Risk is a member of the Financial Association Netherlands (FAN). This is a national platform which serves to stimulate and facilitate contacts between the various financial associations and companies within the Netherlands. Study associations from Amsterdam (FSA), Groningen (Risk), Maastricht (FS FOCUS), Rotterdam (FSR) as well as Tilburg (Asset | Accounting & Finance) are affiliated with the FAN.
The goal of this partnership is to bridge the gap between theory and practice. According to the FAN, collaboration on a national may on the one hand lead to a better information service towards students, and on the other hand encompasses opportunities for businesses. Because of the existence of the FAN, businesses are able to reach financial students from all over the country. The FAN always attempts to maintain a high degree of uniformity and transparency.
Three collective activities are organized annually:
Multinational Battle
The Multinational Battle is a three day finance and controlling event that revolves around student teams working cases from various multinationals. Each university city will pre-select a team of four interested students. In the spring, these teams will get together in Utrecht and compete to win the Multinational Battle!
Traders Trophy
At the Traders Trophy, the best Dutch students compete for the title of 'best student trader'. After local qualification rounds, the 40 top students gather at Beursplein 5 to perform at a trading simulation. Within a virtual dealing room they will compete with eachother. The spectacle will take place around november / december.
National Investment Competition
This national event stimulates students to get to know the world of investment. The goal of this competitions is to use the fictive amount of € 100,000 to get a return that is as high as possible. Two rounds of six weeks each will be held, during which participants speculate with actual AEX rates. During these two rounds, weekly winners are announced in each participating city. Of course, every students goal is to win the entire competition.
