Organizational & Management Control

General Information
This Master’s degree programme will teach you the skills you need to manage and control an organization. With its wide range of modules and specializations to choose from, O&MC is a straight business degree that covers the entire range of the field. Variety is perhaps its most important characteristic.

You will learn about the field of internal and external financial and non-financial information gathering and financial management. O&CM not only enables you to specialize, but also to combine knowledge from various business studies fields.

You will learn to understand the process of managing and controlling an organization, for example by developing a new strategy as a response to competitors’ actions or clients’ wishes.

You will also learn to draw up budgets, analyse investment projects and make cost price calculations, so that an organization can take decisions on the basis of financial data. These decisions may involve the products a company wants to sell and at what price, or new activities that need to be developed, or a reorganization.

The Master’s degree programme focuses on financial information gathering and decision-making against the background of the organizations within which these processes occur, the plans for the future of such organizations and the people involved.

Career Prospects
Graduates of this Master’s degree programme are qualified for various types of jobs in profit as well as non-profit organizations. The programme provides you with a solid grounding in the field of financial management and information gathering and processing for decision-making purposes. The specialization you choose will partly determine the types of job you will be able to apply for.

If you specialize in financial management, for example, you could join a financial department or end up as a controller. If you choose modules in the management and organization field, you could consider support and management positions such as assistant manager, policy officer, researcher or departmental manager. You would also be able to work as an organization consultant in the fields of quality management, financial management or change processes within organizations.
