Traders Trophy

The Dutch Student Traders Trophy is a competition among students from top universities who compete to become the best student ‘trader’ in the Netherlands. Performance is evaluated on profitability, market awareness, client service and risk management.

The competition will be open to students studting at the following universities:  

  • Universiteit van Amsterdam
  • Vrije Universiteit
  • Rijksuniversiteit Groningen
  • Universiteit Maastricht
  • Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam
  • Universiteit van Tilburg
  • Universiteit Utrecht

The trading simulation used in the Trading Trophy gives the participants the opportunity to be active in a dealing room environment. A full day of trading is simualted in a two hour session. Up to 40 laptops are connected into a virtual dealing room where the students trade against each other and fictive market players. Participants must show market awareness by following the market movements and the news and set a strategy for their trading. At the same time they will have to answer calls from clients and give quotes.

The pre-rounds will be organised in cooperation with the student association of the respective universities. The following date has been set for the pre-round in Groningen: Tuesday 22nd of November.
