The theme of the Risk Conference 2011 was Mergers & Acquisitions and the conference was held in the Martiniplaza.

The day was lead by the chairman of the day Annette Nijs, Executive Director Global Initiative China Europe International Business School . During the day several interesting speakers told about their experience with M&A, including:

• Ernst Jan Kruis, CEO Solveigh 
• James Nolan, Head of Mergers & Acquisitions, Royal Philips Electronics 
• prof. dr. Wim Holterman, Professor of Business Valuation at University of Groningen, partner Valuation & Strategy at PwC 
• Hans Hoogervorst, Chairman of the International Accounting Standards Board, former chairman of the AFM 

Next to these readings, 10 workshops were organized by participating companies to interact with the 300 students that were attending the conference. To end the day there was a dinner in the 'Groninger Museum'.
