Dr. D.A. (Dick) de Waard RA MA is partner of Ernst & Young Accountants LLP, The Netherlands, active at Ernst & Young Climate Change and Sustainability Services. He is responsible for the total set of services that Ernst & Young offers in the field of climate change and sustainability in the Netherlands and Central Europe. He audits sustainability reports from a variety of national and multinational enterprises. This also includes the verification of CO2 and NOx emission reports and advice on Climate Change and REACH.
In addition, Dick is active as Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Groningen, where he is chairman of the section Auditing within the department Accountancy. Recently, he successfully defended his thesis with the title “Supervision on Corporate Social Responsibility’, in which he developed the results of his research on the responsibility of the Supervisory Board of listed enterprises on corporate social responsibility.
