“Monkey Business: Swinging through the European Jungle”

Everyone knows the stories of countries where business practices, to say the least, can be questionable. Consider the former communist stronghold in Russia, where Shell withthe project "Sakhalin" has been introduced to the way of doing business in Russia.

Russia seems an extreme example, but in the way of doing business almost any country may seem challenging. Even closer to home, there are significant differences between countries in the way of doing business. Take the Southern European countries where the economic problems have been worsening in the last couple of years.

The current conditions in Europe make it difficult for the Financial manager to deal with the differences between countries. In times of crisis, it seems as if one must maneuver through a difficult passable “business jungle”.
