As a Retail Banking trainee you work on the bank of tomorrow every day. We’re continually working to improve our services by making financial matters simpler and more transparent for our customers. We also work in an ‘agile’ manner: teams with specialists from a variety of disciplines take responsibility for a concrete purpose from start to finish. This enables us to respond to customer needs much more rapidly. We’re keen to hear your ideas for how we can do that even better and faster.

The programme

Above all, ‘change banking’ means taking action. As a trainee, you can help by improving the transparency of our mortgages, for example, or by contributing new ideas for the Savings product for SME customers. You can also take responsibility for organising a major event for private banking customers.

Based on your own interests, you can indicate your preferences for your first rotation so that we can work together to find a suitable starting role for you. Alongside your own assignment, you also collaborate with other trainees on a group assignment. This enables you to get to know several departments within our Retail Bank.

It’s up to you to arrange your second rotation on your own, but that will be no problem for you since by then you will have built up a sizeable network and know what you want. Many of our trainees choose to do a rotation abroad.

After that, you start in your first ‘real’ job, which lasts for approximately two years. The aim is to further enhance your knowledge and hone your skills in roles such as Customer Journey Expert, Product Owner, Accountmanager (Business Domain) or Credit Specialist.

What do we offer you?

Needless to say we offer you an excellent basic salary for this traineeship (starters position), a 13th month, paid annual leave, an impressive training package and a permanent contract. But above all we offer you the chance to shape your own ideas about banking in a receptive environment and hence to make banking even simpler and more transparent for our customers. Together with other (international) trainees you will participate in global events, which will enable you to quickly build up a large network. You also have the opportunity to do one of your projects abroad – because six months in Madrid, Frankfurt or Milan is not only really interesting but also good for your development.

As a trainee you receive guidance from your line manager, an HR coach and a Senior Manager in a mentor’s role. They will coach you, inspire you, introduce you to their network and share their knowledge and insights with you.

What do we ask of you?

• You have a master degree from a university.

• You have an interest in financial services, an innovative take on banking and an unconditional drive to turn your ideas into reality.

• As a student you have gained (international) experience through various extracurricular activities.

• You are enthusiastic and consider the interests of our customers and your colleagues.

• You are fluent in Dutch.
