About Peru

As the Risk International Financial Program Board 2013-2014, we wish you a warm welcome to our website. In the spring of 2014 we will fly to the developing, yet very promising country Peru! Not only is Peru very interesting businesswise, but with its nature, weather, and rich culture it is one of the most beautiful countries in Latin America. We will stay in Peru for five weeks to do business as well as to travel and have fun.

The Risk International Financial Program (IFP) is an international trip in which 21 top students get the opportunity to do research in an emerging market. They will be accompanied by two or three professors from the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. When the research weeks are over, there are opportunities to travel through Peru in groups.

IFP will mainly focus on financial research. This means that there will be a focus on financial institutions such as banks, investment funds, and insurance companies or organizations from other sectors which wish to conduct financial research in Peru.

Not only is the Peruvian economy one of the fastest growing economies in Latin America, its growth and inflation have also been stable for the past 10 years. This combination of high and stable growth make Peru a fascinating country to conduct business research. Since March 2013, The Netherlands have established a trade agreement with Peru, which makes the country even more interesting for Dutch companies because this agreement will make exporting from and to Peru easier and cheaper. Also, Peru is ranked 4th in the Bloomberg top 20 of emerging markets, making it the highest ranked country in Latin-America. We believe that Peru has one of the most promising economies of the world right now, making it the perfect destination for the International Financial Program 2014.
