As the Risk International Financial Program Board 2014-2015, we wish you a warm welcome to our website. In the spring of 2015 we will fly to the developing, yet very promising country Colombia! Not only is Colombia very interesting businesswise, but with its nature, weather and rich culture it is one of the most beautiful countries in Latin America.
The Risk International Financial Program (IFP) is an international trip in which 21 top students get the opportunity to do research in an emerging market. They will be accompanied by two or three professors from the University of Groningen.
In previous years IFP conducted research for a variety of companies in a broad range of disciplines. Since Risk is the financial study association of the University of Groningen, IFP will mainly focus on financial research.
Not only is the Colombian economy one of the fastest growing economies in Latin America, its growth has been relatively high and its inflation has been low for the past five years. The combination of high growth and low inflation makes Colombia an interesting country to conduct business research. Since March 2013, The Netherlands have established a trade agreement with Colombia, which makes the country even more interesting for Dutch companies. This agreement lowers the costs of exporting from and to Colombia and makes it more efficient. Besides, Colombia is ranked 11th in the Bloomberg top 20 of emerging markets in 2014. We believe that Colombia has one of the most promising economies of the world right now, making it the perfect destination for the International Financial Program 2015.
